Frequently Asked Questions

Do we offer cat or small animal grooming?

No, we specialize exclusively in dog grooming services and do not groom cats or small animals.

How long do appointments take?

Appointment times can vary depending on factors such as the size of your dog, their coat type, and the specific haircut desired. Generally, appointments can take 2 hours or more to ensure thorough care and attention to detail.

Do you groom dogs that are in heat or pregnant?

Yes, we do groom dogs that are in heat or pregnant. We kindly ask that you provide us with plenty of notice when booking these appointments. This allows us to ensure we have ample time to safely and comfortably groom your dog, prioritizing their well-being throughout the grooming process.

Do we offer anal gland expression?

Generally we do not offer anal gland expression as a service. Naturally dogs do this themselves. The more we interfere without there being a problem, the more they lose the ability, resulting in needing human expression. Please speak to your groomer should the need arise. Understand we can only express externally, any internal problems must been seen by a veterinarian.

Do we groom puppies and senior dogs?

Yes, we groom dogs of all ages! A lot of our clientele are older gals and fellas! We take dogs from 8 weeks (having had their first two sets of shots). We recommend starting grooming as early as possible to get your dog used to the process and the tools so that they can have a happy and stress-free grooming experience as they age.

Matting

Is your dog dealing with severe matting? We prioritize your pet's comfort and well-being above all else. For matted dogs, brushing them out can be painful and potentially harmful to their skin. That's why we advocate for a safer, less stressful solution: shaving. By opting to shave your dog, we ensure a smoother, more comfortable grooming experience and a restart!

Do we shave double coated dogs?

We do not recommend shaving double coated breeds, as their fur plays a crucial role in regulating body temperature year-round. Contrary to popular belief, shaving does not make them cooler or reduce shedding—it can actually disrupt their natural insulation. However, we understand that some dogs may have been shaved repeatedly in the past. In these cases, we carefully assess each situation and may consider shaving if deemed necessary for your pet's comfort and coat health.
